Join us for a live and informative panel discussion from top DFW employers about effective diversity programs and strategies in recruitment.  In this fun and interactive session, you will not only learn the issues facing diversity in DFW, but also solid tactics to implement within your own organization that will make a difference. Afterwards, we will have a valuable cocktail networking opportunity and a Silent Auction (benefiting the SHRM Foundation).       ~ HRCI Credits Pending ~

Silent Auction begins 3:30 p.m. - Silent Auction closes 4:00 - 5:15 p.m.
Silent Auction re-opens for final bids 5:15 – 6:00 p.m. Winners announced 6:30 p.m.

PANELISTS


Tim McRay, Leadership & Culture, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services

Tim McRay is currently responsible for Leadership & Culture at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services in Fort Worth, TX.

Tim began managing people at the age of 17. He has concentrated on the field of leadership and organizational development for the past 8 years and consults with businesses of all sizes as well as individual clients. Before moving into a focus on leadership Tim held senior management positions in operations within financial services and health care administration for more than 17 years.

Tim holds a Bachelors degree in Management, a Masters degree in Business Administration, is now pursuing a PhD in Leadership Studies, and is an adjunct Professor of Human Resource Management at the undergraduate level.


Community Service experience includes:

·   Corporate Advisory Board Member – Texas Diversity Council

·   President – Ft. Worth Chapter of the Texas Diversity Council

·   Board Member – University of North Texas Professional Leadership Program

Jean Hood, VP of Human Resources at University of Texas at Arlington

Jean Hood serves as Vice President for Human Resources at the University of Texas at Arlington.  In addition to all the functional areas of Human Resources, she is responsible for the Office of Compliance Services and the Office of Information Security.  She is a member of the President’s Executive Committee and Cabinet.  Prior to this appointment, Jean held executive level human resource positions at the Urban Institute in Washington D.C.; the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Cambridge MA; the Rhode Island School of Design.  In addition to her higher education experience, Hood held the position of Assistant Managing Director for Lord and Taylor in Dallas, Texas.  She holds a BS in Management from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.

Hood is very active in her profession and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, The College and University Professional Association, The National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education and holds the SPHR certification from SHRM. Prior to moving back to Texas, she was on the Board of Directors for the North East Human Resource Association and has served as a program evaluator for the Ford Foundation’s Innovations in American Government Program. Currently, she is on the State Board of the Texas Diversity Council as well as a member of the Advisory Council for the Master of Science in Human Resource Management Program in the College of Business at the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, Hood serves on the National Mentoring Veterans Project   she is a Director on the Board of Conexion, a non- profit organization engaged in advancing Latino leadership and holds an appointment on Association of Public Land Grant University as a member on the Commission for Access and Diversity.

In March 2011 she was the recipient of two awards for her contributions to inclusion and diversity in the workplace. First, the National Diversity Council included her in their 2011 "Most Powerful Women in Texas" award. Second, the Texas Diversity Council presented her with the 2011 Diversity Champion Award.
